Here are a couple of good Saint Nicholas links for you:

Also, it's customary for Saint Nicholas to leave chocolate initials in each child's shoe - here's where we're getting ours from this year:

Thanks for the links. St. Nicholas comes to the girls' school where he leaves trails of glitter and puts golden walnuts and a little candy in every shoe.

At our house, he leaves trails of glitter and chocolate gold coins in their shoes. I'm going to try and make these for them this year: http://www.flickr.com/photos/toriadz/2041641949/in/pool-555326@N20/

You're welcome! Saint Nicholas leaves glitter and gold wrapped gold coins at our house too. Those elf shoes are SO cute! Thanks for sharing that!

We're Catholic in addition to being Waldorfers, and St Nicholas is big in many Catholic families. I always grew up with the tradition of chocolate coins, so that's what he brings at our house, too. He also leaves a new Christmas book each year. It's actually always of a religious nature. We're not very religious, but St Nicholas Day is our one kind of religious thing that we do. ;)
